Assistant General Manager Job at Talea Beer Co. - Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY

  • Talea Beer Co. - Williamsburg
  • Brooklyn, NY

Job Description

Searching for an experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) for TALEA Beer Co.’s numerous locations spread throughout NYC. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for exceptional people to join our leadership team and grow with us. Must have experience in senior restaurant / bar management and high volume service.

About Us

TALEA’s original brewery and taproom in Williamsburg, Brooklyn opened in March 2021. We are NYC’s only female-founded production brewery. TALEA operates six other taprooms. Our hospitality-focused experience showcases our signature low-bitterness, fruit-forward beers, boasts unique beer cocktails, and features a small, beer-friendly food program. With our 20-barrel brew house and pilot system, we continue to brew and release crowd favorites as well as experimental small-batch beers, all with the mission of creating easy-to-love beers “perhaps to replace that glass of rosé” (Florence Fabricant, The New York Times). Our beers are available at Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Costco and hundreds of bars, restaurants, and retailers across NYC and the surrounding areas.

The Role

The AGM will be responsible for assisting GM’s on the entire operation of the taprooms, ensuring that guests are satisfied (if not delighted), and that staff are trained, supported, and motivated. Additionally, the AGM will be responsible for helping to create, implement, and drive improvements in taproom operations, revenue, procedures, and staffing, as well as in managing all FOH and BOH team members. Experience managing in fine dining, kitchen management, or high-volume restaurants is required – a passion for craft beer is a plus.

As a member of the nimble, fast-growing TALEA team, you’ll work closely with the General Manager and Co-Founders. We value autonomy, ambition, grit, and an insatiable desire to exceed expectations. If you’re looking for an exciting, fast-paced, challenging opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Maintain a positive outlook and professional behavior under pressure
  • Assist in other areas of the business as needed

Requirements

  • 3 years of management experience in fine dining, high-volume, kitchen management, or equivalent restaurant or taproom preferred
  • Passionate about craft beer, excited about TALEA’s vision, and obsessed with customer satisfaction
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined. You take initiative, exhibit flexibility, understand a sense of urgency, and work autonomously; you bring creative ideas to the table and see projects through to completion
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and retaining employees
  • Enthusiastic and comfortable working for an early-stage company in a rapidly changing environment
  • Working during peak periods (weekends, evenings, holidays)
  • Knowledge of the New York Restaurant industry a plus

Compensation
